Colne F.C. are pleased to announce two signings, the permanent signing of Joe Coveney and loan signing of Morgan Homson-Smith from Southport FC.
Joe, who was a free agent following his release from Nottingham Forest in the summer has already played 5 games for the Reds and following this, the club is delighted Joe has opted to make the move permanent.
Comfortable when playing at the heart of the back four or in Midfield, Joe is known for his excellent distribution of the ball and has already become a favourite with the Red Army.
Coveney had previously signed a two-year scholarship with Manchester City in 2015 and helped them to win the Under 18 Premier League North trophy.
Homson-Smith signed a full time contract with Southport back in October 2018 and was also part of the squad that defeated the Reds in last season’s Lancashire Cup Final.
Manager Steve Cunningham said ‘I’m delighted Morgan has decided to join us. He had offers from clubs higher up the pyramid but chose Colne and I believe that’s testament to what the club has achieved already this season. Morgan gives us another option in attack and that can only be a good thing as we attempt to put points on the board in the run up to Christmas’
Welcome to the club Morgan and Joe!
