An opening day of the season to forget for the reds as they went down 3-0 away at West Didsbury & Chorlton.
The reds started the game brightly and Forshaw bents his shot onto the bases of the post after just 5 minutes, with the game flowing at a high tempo.
Weaver forced a good save from the West goalkeeper after 25 minutes. Sadly, the reds lost midfielder Matty Kardacz through injury on the half hour mark and was replaced by Pickles to make his reds debut.
Pickles looked lively and on 43 minutes found himself bearing down on the keeper, but he couldnt manage the beat the outstretched stopper.
Forshaw also went close on a couple of occasions for the reds but both sides went into the break goalless.
As the second half kicked off, the reds were immediately on the back foot and a goal down on 49 minutes as Darren McKnights free-kick found its way into the bottom corner.
Just three minutes later things went from bad to worse for wellers lions as Matthews dribbled down the left and he squared the ball to Billingsley, whos shot rattled the bar and after a ping pong in the box Elliot extended the hosts lead.
6 minutes later the game was dead and buried as Elliot was brought down in the reds box. McKnight stepped up and slotted the penalty home to make it 3-0.
On 66 minutes, Colnes misery was extended as Doyle harshly saw a Red Card for something he said to the referee.
The game ended 3-0 to West Didsbury, Weller will be hoping for a positive response on Tuesday as the reds face Bury FC.
